How FaxTonic works

Sending a fax takes a few minutes. Here’s what happens at each step, and what happens after you pay.

  1. Add your document

Upload one or more files (PDF, JPEG, and PNG) and put them in order. Your browser turns the pages into fax format, so you can check how each one will look. A prepared fax can be up to 4 MB.

  2. Keep or skip the cover page

The cover page is on by default and costs nothing. Fill in the recipient, your name, your phone number and a message, or switch it off if your document already has one. The date and time are added for you.

  3. Enter the destination

Choose the country and type the fax number. FaxTonic checks that it’s a valid number for that country. Available destinations: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, and Spain.

  4. Check the total and pay

You see the page count and the total before paying. Confirm that you’re allowed to send the document to this recipient, then pay by card on a form provided by Stripe.

  5. Follow the status

The fax goes out right after payment. A status page shows each stage until the fax is delivered, or until a refund is on its way.

What you need

  • A document of up to 20 pages, the cover page included
  • A fax number in one of these countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Australia, and Spain
  • A payment card

After you pay

Our fax provider dials the number and transmits the pages. If the line is busy, nobody answers or there’s no fax machine on the line, the fax fails and is refunded under our refund policy.

Once the fax is delivered, your document is deleted. If it isn’t delivered, it’s deleted after 24 hours at the latest.
